Classic Great Eskape: A Day at the Capital Cross Classic

Great Eskape came out strong for the final Super 8 race of the year at Lake Fairfax Park in D.C.'s very own backyard. Racers entered 4 race categories. Leah's 6th place women's 4 finish was by far the best of the day, but the rest of the team hauled in a smattering of mid-to-back-of-pack finishes on a damp and technical course at the Capital Cross Classic. We also managed to kill a whole bunch of beer.
In the Men's 3/4 race, Great Eskape started 7 racers, and team work made the dream work when 2 of them helped me unpin and re-pen my race number onto the correct side on the start line.
4 riders entered the single speed race on Great Eskape's de facto "team bike," the All-City Nature Boy single speed cyclocross bike, and 3 of them finished (including Addison: completing his 1st single speed cross race! congrats!) I was the lone DNF, having made it only half a lap in before breaking my left crank arm off. Too. Many. Watts.
Great racing everyone. Great Eskape's FINAL 2017 cyclocross race will be at Bikeneticx next Sunday.
