Friday Morning Coffee Outside DC
at The Great Eskape Since 2016

You must bring water and a mug for yourself and we always welcome extra camp stoves and brewing apparatuses.

  • Coffee Outside is non-exclusive, open, and free morning ritual.

  • Coffee grinds are provided free of charge by Team Great Eskape and Zeke’s Coffee DC.

  • Ride departs at 7:05am from the Capital Crescent Trailhead at the end of Water Street in Georgetown, DC.

  • Ride is less than 4 miles on mixed surfaces, finishing at the ruins of the former Washington Aqueduct Low Water Intake (AKA Great Eskape Cafe) off the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, on the banks of the Potomac river. Participents’ return to Georgetown is self-guided.

  • Ride takes place Every-other-Friday. On those fridays between and on select weekend Upshift Workshop (@upshift_dc) hosts #coffeeoutsideRCP meet ups in Rock Creek Park.

  • This is not a sponsored or guided event, and there is no fee or registration, you do not need to be part of our or any other club - it’s just something that we do for fun and we love it when our friends (new or old!) join us, so you have to accept full responsibility for your safety and comfort.

About “Coffee Outside DC”

#COFFEEOUTSIDEDC

The ORIGINAL Coffee Outside Ride: Since 2016, Great Eskape has taken our Coffee Outside to the banks of the Potomac River on alternating Friday morning from late March to early November around 7am.

We meet at 7:00 am every other Friday at the Key Bridge Boathouse, near the old Alexandria Aqueduct ruins at the Capital Crescent Trail Head. We take a short, mixed surfaces ride out to the Great Eskape club house overlooking the Potomac River. If you know where to find it you can also meet us there. 7:05 am roll from the Georgetown Capital Crescent Trailhead in Georgetown. The ride is about 3.5 miles with 1 mile being gravel surface. We usually go with tire widths of at least 30mm for travel on the C&O gravel trail. Route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45821839

We tend to enjoy our coffee until about 8:30 am. In the event of heavy rain, storms, extreme cold, or high water levels #CoffeeOutsideDC will be moved to an alternate location. We will announce location changes on our Instagram and to the coffee outside email list.
